his wonderful things

Psalm 105:1-6 (JDV)

Psalm 105:1 Give thanks to Yahveh, call on his name; proclaim his actions among the peoples.
Psalm 105:2 Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell about all his wonderful things!
Psalm 105:3 Honor his sacred name; the hearts of those who seek Yahveh should rejoice.
Psalm 105:4 Seek Yahveh and his strength; seek his face always.
Psalm 105:5 Remember the wonderful things he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he has pronounced,
Psalm 105:6 you offspring of Abraham his servant, Jacob’s descendants – his chosen ones.

God’s wonderful things are a focus of the believer’s worship and the believer’s meditation. When we take our eyes off what God has done and is still doing, the distraction that results can be deadly. Only by focusing on him do we keep the faith necessary to overcome. Focusing on ourselves is arrogant. Focusing on the world leads to discouragement and doubt.  Only when we seek his face will we find our place.
