the difference — then, the end, now
Psalm 104:31-35 (JDV)
Psalm 104:31 May the fame of Yahveh endure permanently; may Yahveh rejoice in what he has made.
Psalm 104:32 He looks at the land, and it trembles; he touches the mountains, and they pour out smoke.
Psalm 104:33 I will sing to Yahveh all my life; I will sing praise to my God while I live.
Psalm 104:34 May my meditation be pleasing to him; I will rejoice in Yahveh.
Psalm 104:35 May sinners be finished from the land and wicked people be no more. My throat, bless Yahveh! Praise Yah!
The LORD made a difference back then. He touched the land, and it trembled. The mountains smoked and out of them, lava poured.
The LORD will also make a difference at the end of the age. The unrepentant winners who seem to be winning now will be finished then. The wicked will be no more.
But what about now? This poet has made up his mind. He is going to spend his lifetime praising the LORD. He is going to discipline his mind to constantly meditate on things that please the LORD. Good choice.
