possessing the promise

Psalm 105:7-11 (JDV)

Psalm 105:7 He is Yahveh our God; his judgments govern the whole land.
Psalm 105:8 He remembers his covenant permanently, the word he commanded for a thousand generations –
Psalm 105:9 the covenant he made with Abraham, swore to Isaac,
Psalm 105:10 and confirmed to Jacob as a prescription and to Israel as a permanent covenant:
Psalm 105:11 “I will give the land of Canaan to you as your hereditary possession.”

God promised these three men that they would become a nation and posses the land of Canaan. Neither of these men actually took possession of the land during their lives. But they trusted that God would do what he promised. He did.

God has promised us that the Lord Jesus Christ will return to the earth and take his throne as its king. Our lives are opportunities for us to live in faith like Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob did. We have a glorious inheritance awaiting us when our king returns.
