a prayer of disruption

Psalm 55:9-11 (JDV)

Psalm 55:9 Lord, confuse and confound their speech, because I see violence and strife in the city;
Psalm 55:10 day and night they make the rounds on its walls. Crime and trouble are inside it;
Psalm 55:11 destruction is inside it; oppression and deceit never leave its marketplace.

a prayer of disruption

David’s prayer when he saw such violent crime and trouble in his city was for God to disrupt their plans by confusing and confounding their speech, like he did at Babel. Isn’t that interesting.  Communication is essential for any cooperative effort. But God can disrupt the communication of those conspiring to do evil.

Lord, there are plots to cause all kinds of trouble around us. Confuse and confound their speech, Lord!
