Psalm 27:10-14

Psalm 27:10 Even if my father and mother abandon me, Yahveh cares for me.

Psalm 27:11 Because of my adversaries, show me your road, Yahveh, and lead me on a level path.

Psalm 27:12 Do not give me over to the throat of my foes, because false witnesses rise up against me, breathing violence.

Psalm 27:13 I am certain that I will see Yahveh’s goodness in the land of the living.

Psalm 27:14 Wait for Yahveh; be strong, and let your heart be courageous. Wait for Yahveh.

courageous waiting

The test of a strong faith is how long the believer can wait for rescue. Adversaries there will be. Uncertainties there will be. Threats of violence there will be. But the one who courageously waits on God will see his goodness in the land of the living. These obstacles to health and happiness that we experience may make us feel that God has abandoned us. But he never will. He cares for us. He only asks that we demonstrate the courage to wait on him for rescue.

Lord, give us the courage to wait on you.
