Psalms 1:1a That man is fortunate-
A man has all that anyone can ask for, a life to be envied. He is on his way to yet another dream vacation, enjoying the best food, the most beautiful women, in his private plane.
Do not call that man fortunate. His plane is going to crash. We cannot judge true fortune by temporary signs.
{NOTE ON THE NEW FORMAT: I WILL BE HIKING THE APPALACHIAN TRAIL FOR THE NEXT FEW MONTHS — (that’s the plan anyway). While I am out on the trail, my posts will look like this. They will feature this photo (of me on the trail). They will also take the date as a title, and feature a verse (or part of a verse) from the Psalms. I will resume my study of John’s Gospel when I return. – Jefferson Vann}
