The Woman
- A woman clothed with the sun.
- The moon under her feet.
- A crown of twelve stars.
- She represents the people of God — Israel and the church together.
She is in labor, about to give birth to the Messiah.
The Dragon
- A great red dragon:
- Seven heads.
- Ten horns.
- Seven crowns.
- His tail sweeps a third of the stars — symbolic of fallen angels.
- He stands ready to devour the child.
The dragon is Satan, the ancient enemy.
The Male Child
- The woman gives birth to a male child:
- The One who will rule the nations with a rod of iron.
- The child is caught up to God and His throne — a picture of Christ’s resurrection and ascension.
The Woman’s Protection
- The woman flees into the wilderness.
- God prepares a place for her for 1,260 days.

War in Heaven
