GOD’S PRESENCE CAN MEAN PROTECTION AND PROVISION

Leviticus 26:1-13

Lev 26:1 “You will not make idols for yourselves or erect an image or pillar, and you will not set up a sculptured stone in your land to bow down to it, because I am Yahveh your God.
Lev 26:2 You will keep my Sabbaths and reverence my sanctuary: I am Yahveh.
Lev 26:3 “If you walk in my prescriptions and observe my commandments and do them,
Lev 26:4 then I will give you your rains in their season, and the land will yield its increase, and the trees of the field will yield their fruit.
Lev 26:5 Your threshing will last to the time of the grape harvest, and the grape harvest will last to the time for planting. And you will eat your bread to the full and stay in your land securely.
Lev 26:6 I will give peace in the land, and you will lie down, and none will make you afraid. And I will remove harmful beasts from the land, and the sword will not go through your land.
Lev 26:7 You will chase your enemies, and they will fall before you by the sword.
Lev 26:8 Five of you will chase a hundred, and a hundred of you will chase ten thousand, and your enemies will fall before you by the sword.
Lev 26:9 I will turn to you and make you fruitful and multiply you and will confirm my covenant with you.
Lev 26:10 You will eat old store long kept, and you will clear out the old to make way for the new.
Lev 26:11 I will make my dwelling among you, and my soul will not grow tired of you.
Lev 26:12 And I will walk among you and will be your God, and you will be my people.
Lev 26:13 I am Yahveh your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that you should not be their slaves. And I have broken the bars of your yoke and made you walk erect.

what eternity will look like

The Mosaic covenant did not promise eternal salvation, nor did it promise a home in heaven. But God did promise his presence, protection from harm, and plenty to to those who obeyed his scriptures, kept his Sabbaths, and revered his sanctuary. When Jesus promised to raise believers to eternal life, it was understood that the resurrected life would be in God’s presence, with eternal peace and provision. The promised land itself was a kind of prophecy of the restoration of earth’s original intention.

LORD, thank you for the benefits of your presence when we are in right standing with you.
