Psalms 5:9 Because there is nothing reliable in what they say; destruction is in their bellies; their throat opens like a grave while they smooth talk you with their tongues.
The psalmist prays against the influence of enemies who claim to be friends. He describes them as if they were dangerous animals who want to eat him, but they present themselves as close friends who flatter and praise him.
Lord, protect us from those kinds of friends!
