silent before our accusers

LAND1C (3)Psalm 109

David’s recourse when unjustly accused was to turn to prayer, trusting God to right the wrong.  He trusted the LORD to condemn those who wrongfully condemn him.  Jesus did the same.  He called on us to love our enemies, and leave the judgment to him.  What do we do, then, with these very human feelings of vengeance and desires for retribution?  Instead of denying them, we should vent them toward heaven.  By doing so, we show our trust in the LORD.  He is at our right hand, ready to help.

LORD, we will stand silent before our accusers, because you are not silent.  You will help us.
