j0410081Joshua 11-12

Just as it was in the conquest of the Soutrhern lands, the kings of the Northern lands conspired in an alliance and came against Joshua, and the LORD gave them into the hands of Israel.  The reason was that the LORD had hardened the hearts of the people “that they should come against Israel  in battle, in order that they should be devoted to destruction and should receive no mercy but be destroyed, just as the LORD commanded Moses” (20).  God allowed the animosity and conflict because he had a purpose for it.

LORD, give us discernment to understand that some things happen for reasons that only you will know.  Our task is to obey while you are working out your plans.
