Daniel 7:19-22 (JDV)

Daniel 7:19 “Then I wanted to be clear about the fourth animal, the one different from all the others, extremely scary, with iron teeth and bronze claws, devouring, crushing, and trampling with its feet whatever was left.
Daniel 7:20 I also wanted to know about the ten horns on its head and about the other horn that came up, before which three fell – the horn that had eyes and a mouth that spoke arrogantly, and that looked bigger than the others.
Daniel 7:21 As I was watching, this horn waged war against the holy ones and was prevailing over them
Daniel 7:22 until the Ancient of Days arrived and a judgment was given in favor of the holy ones of the Highest, for the time had come, and the holy ones took possession of the kingdom.

Dr. Roller says that this fifth animal represents the establishment of a fifth world empire. As such, his application of the text is “Eventually every human kingdom falls, and ultimately God will judge; and the saints — the holy ones — will rule. That being the case, does it not behoove us as Christians, to prepare ourselves now for the positions of authority and responsibility God is planning to give us when he assumes control of the world? And how would we go about doing that? Wouldn’t it be by living holy lives?” (44).
