Psalms 5:12 Because you, LORD, make the righteous one fortunate; you cover him with favor like a shield.

The psalmist ends his prayer on the same basis as he began it: God’s character. He knows God is there, and he has confidence in God’s love and commitment to his people.

Lord, may your love be the foundation of our prayer lives.
