Hosea 2:21-23

Hos 2:21 “And in that day I will answer, this is what Yahveh says, I will answer the skies, and they will answer the land,
Hos 2:22 and the land will answer the grain, the wine, and the oil, and they will answer Jezreel,
Hos 2:23 and I will plant her for myself in the land. And I will have tender affection on No Tender Affection, and I will say to Not My People, ‘You are my people’; and he will say, ‘You are my God.'”

aftermath to Jezreel

After God scatters the northern kingdom as a judgment for Jehu’s violence, he promises to plant a people for himself in the land. Long after the name of Baal is removed from their vocabulary, the LORD will speak to the skies, and they will rain back on the land, producing abundant crops again. And God will bring a people to the land upon whom he has tender affection, and whom he calls his own people.

LORD, give us the wisdom to reject the violence that caused you to judge your people in Hosea’s time. Make us people of peace who seek your will.
