an unhappy business

IMG_1288Ecclesiastes 1:12-18

It is a mistake to think that the more one knows, the happier one will be.  The preacher learned this lesson well.  He discovered that the more he learned about the world around him, the less comfortable he felt.  As his knowledge increased, his sense of futility and despair increased.  The more he desired to treat life as a hands-on experience, the less he was actually able to change for the better.

LORD, give us enough knowledge of this world, that we are wise enough to seek answers from another one.
