Psalm 85This psalm comes from a people who have known the joy of the LORD’s forgiveness and restoration, and seek for it again. They are confident that the LORD will restore them again because of two things, both of which are attributes of God. The LORD is righteous (so he had to punish the people for their sin) but he is also faithful (so he will not forget to restore them). It is terrifying to contemplate that God cannot be tricked, justice will come. It is comforting to know that this sovereign God loves us, and will revive us again.
LORD, we surrender to your judgment because we have experienced your love.
