Exodus: opportunities

redsea870Exodus 1:22-2:22

Certain events take place in our lives that present opportunities for us to act — to make a difference. Pharaoh saw an opportunity to prevent rebellion among the Hebrews. Jochebed saw an opportunity to rescue her son from death. Pharaoh’s daughter saw an opportunity for an heir. Miriam saw an opportunity to restore Moses to his mother. Moses saw an opportunity to prevent cruelty. Jethro saw an opportunity to gain a son-in-law.

Sometimes God approves the choices we make. Other times the consequences show that the choices were wrong. Either way, those opportunities are an invitation from God for us to join him in his story.

LORD, help us to be actively involved in your rescue story. May we make the choices that honor you and lead others to you.
