the means of salvation

13330063 Romans 3:21-31.  Right standing with God is not bought by means of being part of any ethnic group — not even those who were given the Mosaic law.  It is a gift that God has given to those who have put their faith in his Son. It is not merely faith as a subject that is the key to God’s salvation. The faith must be in the right object. Faith in myself, faith in faith, faith in the decency of humanity, faith in fate, or even faith in God’s law — all of these are insufficient. The faith that saves is faith in Jesus Christ (22, 24,26).  The means of salvation is not faith. The means is the blood of Christ shed as a propitiation, restoring a right relationship with God.

LORD, help us to put our faith in the right object — your Son who died for our deliverance.
